ALCOHOL
- Students under 21 must get written permission from their parent or legal guardian to have beer or wine at meals.
- Consumption of hard liquor or binge drinking is forbidden and will result in being sent home at your expense.
- In all cases, you are subject to the rules of your group leader and parents.
ATTENDANCE AT MEALS
- You are expected to be at all breakfasts and group meals. Other arrangements must be approved by your group leader.
POSSESSION AND USE OF DRUGS
- The use or possession of illegal substances is strictly forbidden and will result in your immediate return to the US at your parents/legal guardians’ expense.
CURFEW
- IC Tour's group leader's will apply curfew hours in each city.
- Respect for other hotel guests is mandatory.
- Keep noise levels down if you are in the lobby and to a bare minimum after 10:00 p.m.
HOTEL BEHAVIOR
- If you cause damage to anything in the hotel, you will be held responsible and must pay for damages before being allowed to leave the premises.
- Any bills presented to you by the hotel are considered final.
- As a respect to others in the hotel, shirts and shoes are required whenever you leave your room.
ON TOUR BEHAVIOR
- Show respect at all times for your tour leaders, local guides and bus drivers.
- Do not use electronic devises such as MP3 players when the tour guide is giving a commentary.
- All activities included in your itinerary require your attendance.
FREE TIME
- When exploring a city during free time, you must be in a minimum group size of three.
- Make sure you have a city map or Smart Phone app and the address of the hotel with you at all times.
- Clubs and discos are off limits unless arranged and supervised by your group leader.
PERSONAL SAFTEY
- It is important to be aware of your surroundings and safety at all times.
- IC Tours advises everyone to carry their money in a neck or waist “safe”. Do not bring a wallet.
- Make sure you have a secure strap for your camera.
- Avoid traveling around with your passport. Most hotel rooms have a safe where you can place it when out on tour. If not ask to keep it in the hotels’ main safe.
- Make sure your group leader has a photocopy of your passport.
RESPECTING LOCAL CULTURES
- Remember at all times you are a foreign guest visiting the home of local residents.
- Respect their monuments and keep your voices down in cathedrals
- Learn basic greetings and polite phrases to use when entering shops, restaurants and sites.
- Never put your feet up on furniture in hotel lobbies, public areas or seats on public transportation.
DRESS
- Show respect for your host country by always dressing neatly.
- Do not wear t-shirts with offensive language.
- In both Spain and Italy you are not allowed in a cathedral or church wearing shorts or sleeveless shirts.
ADAPTABILITY
- Always be kind and courteous when traveling. It may be hot, crowded and you could suffer delays.
- Just remember to smile and adapt to whatever experiences come your way.
DISCIPLINE - You will be withdrawn from the tour for the following:
- Drinking hard liquor or binge drinking,
- Consuming beer or wine without a signed permission slip or group leader present.
- Deliberate damage of hotel property.
- Breaking of any local laws.
- Refusal to abide by curfews,
- Actions by students deemed dangerous to themself or others.
- Possession and use of illegal drugs (US and local laws).
The results will be:
- You will be sent home at your family's expense (your group ticket is invaid for an early return).
- You will be escorted to the airport by an IC representative.
- Every attempt will be made to contact your parents/guardian
- If they are away, IC Tours will notify the person listed on your application form.

These are the minimum guidelines established by International Classroom. Group leaders may impose additional rules or regulations that are appropriate for their group.
