Day 01:
Departure from US gateway city
Day 2 – Venice:
Arrive in Venice and be transferred to your centrally located hotel. A light walking orientation tour will begin your Venetian experience.
Day 3 – Venice:
A late morning guided walking tour will take you through Piazza San Marco, the Basilica of San Marco, and the Doges Palace. After some freetime for lunch and wandering, you will travel across the Grand Canal for a visit to San Giorgio Maggiore. There you will see Tintoretto’s Last Supper, a Brunelleschi Crucifixion carving, and go up the bell tower to see the very best views of Venice.
Day 4 – Venice:
A free day is planned for the opportunity to visit some of the many church’s in Venice that display some of the finest art in Italy. In addition, you will have time to take the water bus out to the lagoon islands of Torcello and Burano. This evening, you will meet at the Venice Ghetto to see and hear about its unique and tragic history.
Day 5 – Venice/Dolomites:
(NOTE: this tour is best planned for June, early July, late September and October) Today your coach will first head west to see Verona. The home of Romeo and Juliet, Verona is also an ancient Roman city with its own amphitheater. In the afternoon, continue to Trento.
Day 6 – Trento:
Today a walking tour of this historic city is planned. Highlights include the Duomo and the Museo Diocesano Trindentino. Free time
is planned for individual activities.
Day 7 – Trento/Cortina:
Continue by coach to Cortina. En route see the Croci pass and Lake Misurina. Today also includes Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the Rifugio
Auronzo, and the 1916 Bersaglieri Memorial.
Day 8 – Cortina:
A relaxed full day tour today takes you to see the Corno del Doge, through Comelico, Val di Sesto, and the Val Fiscalina/Fischleintal. Return to Cortina. A special evening is planned for your final night.
Day 9 – Cortina/USA:
Your coach will take you back to the airport for your return fight.
